‘VORM AAN DE VECHT’ 2022

Triptych ‘Cogitatio Inanis’: an austere object stripped of frills, reduced to its essence, embedded in the serene and minimalist environment of Buitenplaats Doornburgh.

Buitenplaats Doornburgh is a special former monastery, built by architect Jan de Jong, student of architect and monk Dom Hans van der Laan, in the famous design language of the Bossche School. What makes it exceptionally unique is that the monastery as a whole has been preserved, including the characteristic furniture of Dom Hans van der Laan that contributes to the special atmosphere. The nature, architecture and history of this country estate still inspire today's makers.
